1. Scope and who we are
CoHavn is a household-management application operated by Forefront Web Technologies Limited Liability Company (“CoHavn,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy applies to the CoHavn mobile app, this website, and related services.
The short version: We use information to run and protect CoHavn. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use purchased, rented, or scraped contact lists.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details such as your name, email address, and authentication information.
- Household details, member roles, display preferences, and invite information.
- Content you choose to add, including events, tasks, shopping items, meals, and budget entries.
- Messages and contact details you provide through our contact form.
Information created through use
We may process service logs, device and operating-system details, feature usage, error information, security events, and timestamps needed to operate, troubleshoot, and protect the service.
Authentication providers
If you choose a supported third-party sign-in method, that provider may share basic account identifiers such as your name, email address, profile image, and provider account ID. Authentication sessions are managed through AWS Cognito.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Create and secure accounts and authenticate sign-ins.
- Provide shared household calendars, tasks, shopping lists, budgets, meals, and related features.
- Sync information across household members and devices as you direct.
- Send requested service messages, security notices, invitations, and enabled notifications.
- Diagnose errors, prevent abuse, maintain reliability, and improve CoHavn.
- Respond to inquiries and meet legal obligations.
We do not use household content for third-party advertising.
5. Storage and security
CoHavn uses HTTPS/TLS for connections and encrypted AWS services for stored application data. Access is limited through technical roles and authentication controls designed for the service.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security. You can help by using a unique password, protecting your device, signing out of shared devices, and reporting suspected unauthorized access through our contact page.
CoHavn currently operates primarily in United States AWS regions. If you use the service from another country, information may be processed in the United States.
6. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information.
- Update profile and household information in the app.
- Manage optional notification preferences in the app.
- Use the in-app export tools for supported household data.
- Use the in-app account-deletion flow or submit a privacy request through our contact page.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
7. How long we keep information
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide CoHavn. When information is deleted, copies may remain for a limited period in protected backups, logs, or records required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
Shared household content may remain available to other household members after one member leaves, because that content belongs to the shared household context. Deleting the final household or account may follow different retention rules shown in the app at the time of deletion.
8. Children’s privacy
CoHavn is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The signup process requests date of birth to enforce this minimum age. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as CoHavn changes. We will post the current version here and update the date above. When required, we will provide additional notice in the app or through an account-related message.
10. Contact us
For a privacy question or request, use the CoHavn contact form and choose “Privacy request.” Please do not include passwords, payment card details, government identifiers, or other sensitive information in your message.
